Turmeric and Ginger Tea
Ingredients
1-2 teaspoons of turmeric powder or 1-2 inches of fresh turmeric root (grated) 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root (grated)
2 cups of water
Jaggery or lemon juice (optional, for taste)
Instructions
â— Prepare the Turmeric and Ginger Mixture
If using fresh turmeric and ginger roots, grate them finely.
If using turmeric powder, measure out the required amount.
â— Boil Water
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
â— Add Turmeric and Ginger
Add the grated turmeric and ginger to the boiling water.
â— Simmer
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the active compounds in turmeric and ginger to infuse into the water.
â— Strain
After simmering, strain the mixture to remove any remaining solids. You should be left with a bright yellow liquid.
â— Cool and Serve
Let the tea cool for a few minutes until it's comfortable to drink.
You can add jaggery or lemon juice for taste, as both honey and lemon have anti-inflammatory properties and can enhance the flavour.
â— Enjoy
Drink this turmeric and ginger tea twice a day, ideally in the morning and evening, to help alleviate knee pain.
