Osteo Arthritis of the Knee joint

Osteoarthritis (OA) in most of the cases is in India is primarily an alignment disorder and secondarily a degenerative disorder. This is progressive in nature. Typically a patient feels swelling, pain, tenderness, reduced movement and cracking sound in the knee. He doesn't see the alignment will change till the problem gets into its 2nd or 3rd phase.

Osteoarthritis does involve the entire joint. It's nearby structures such as muscles, ligaments, cartilage underlying bone and the joint capsule are adversely effected. In advance cases the bones remodels itself. Legs of a knee osteoarthritis patient may become like a 'bow'.
