Lower back pain (Lumbar Spondylosis)

Everyone, at least once in his lifetime suffers from lower back pain. The pain may be due to some disease or injury to the muscles, bones, and/or nerves of the spine.

Pain in the organs within the abdomen and pelvis, may also be felt in the back like pain of the kidney stones are felt close to the L2-L4 region of the spine. Pelvic infections, ovarian disorders, Menstruation can also cause lower back pain.

Due to disc bulge/ herniation or prolapse the exiting nerve root gets pinched. This causes pain along the whole track of that nerve. Radiating pain to the leg is called Sciatica. It has 6 different types. Once the exact diagnosis of the type of Sciatica is done then, through medical yoga therapy sciatica can be treated anytime between one session to three months time. Surgeries are also saved in a number of cases at our centre.

Testimonials

D. Mathu, Canberra, Australia

I had severe Lower back pain radiating down to both legs. I was walking with a stick. I Did a few sessions with Dr Deepak Sachdeva during his annual Visit to Australia and the results are excellent. I walk without stick or any other help, my pain is gone completely. I still do his sessions when he comes to Canberra for fitness and over all wellbeing.

Ms Madi, London, UK

After the three weeks tuition from you I have to say I believe I have added 10 years to my life, and from the comments of my work colleagues and friends I must have taken off at least 5 years off my age, as they are all complimenting me on looking ‘fitter’ less stressed and younger’’!! I can confirm that I dropped a jean size from my waist during those three weeks in India.

Gagan, Sydney, Australia:

My job involves long sitting hours on chair. It causes me pain and stiffness in my lower back. I went for 10 sessions with Dr D S and got healed completely. Pain is gone, stiffness is gone. I feel more I have so much energy now that I can even go and run for 5 kms at the end of the day.

Physiotherapy sessions for a few weeks for lower back and sciatic pain but didn’t get significant relief.

Medical Yoga therapy: Then patient came to 7 days medical yoga pain relief workshop. After clinical check up & going through patient’s medical reports, medically modified asanas mentioned here were prescribed:

Asanas that were done during the treatments:

  • Vipreet karni 1 with one stool and 1 pillow
  • Ek pad supt Gomukh asana
  • Reverse Bhekasana with 1 yellow belt
  • Supta padangusth asana 1 with rope

Vipreet karni: To release the stiffness in the lumbar region muscles (quadrates lumboram) muscle and illiocostalist muscle). Also to restore the natural curve of the lumbar spine (lumbar lordosis).

Gomukh asana: To release the pressure on the sciatic nerve of the six deep lateral rotator muscles in the hip joint. Also improves the range of motion of the hip joint so that the forward bending movement in the day to day life is done from both the hip joint and lumbar region. This significantly reduced the pressure of the lumbar discs and eventually on the lumbar nerves during forward bend.

Reverse BhekAsana:

Supta padangusth asana with rope:
